Chelsea captain John Terry uses ice machine ahead of Tuesday morning scan on injured ankle

John Terry will have a scan on Tuesday morning as Chelsea wait to discover the extent of his ankle injury.
Skipper Terry left Swansea on crutches after rolling his ankle in injury time of Sunday's 2-2 draw and spent Monday night using an ice machine while watching Everton's 3-0 win over Sunderland.
"Having an MRI scan in the morning to find out the extent of my injury," he posted on Instagram.
Chelsea got to work on Terry's ankle almost immediately on Sunday night and were waiting for the swelling to reduce on Monday ahead of the planned scan.
Terry's frustration at the setback was clear as he posted a photo on social media of his swollen and bandaged ankle on Sunday with three 'angry face' emojis.

But he followed that up yesterday with a more encouraging video of him putting weight on his ankle, something he wasn't able to do in the immediate aftermath of the Swansea draw.
If Terry is unable to recover in time for Friday's mouthwatering clash against Liverpool, his absence would open the door for David Luiz to make his second Chelsea debut following his £34m deadline day move from Paris Saint Germain.
Gary Cahill will also be available with the Blues defender in the clear after his post-match comments.

Cahill was fuming after referee Andre Marriner failed to spot he was fouled twice by scorer Leroy Fer in the build up to Swansea's second goal.
Cahill said "you could be sat on the moon and see it is a clear foul" and claimed that Marriner's decision "kills me and kills my team.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte chose his words wisely after the match but is understood to have fully backed Cahill's views.
And the FA are satisfied Cahill's comments don't breach their rules on players and managers' criticism of referees and unlikely to take any action.
