Clinton ill health exposed: This is how it all progressed to its climax

New scrutiny is being applied to Hillary Clinton 's health in the wake of the incident at Sunday's 9/11 memorial ceremony, which she left after feeling "overheated."
Clinton is at home resting in New York today in keeping with doctor's orders, according to her campaign. But the incident has raised questions about the campaign's transparency.
Clinton previously released some medical records, which are more detailed than medical documentation provided by Donald Trump , but even top Democrats are piling on, questioning an apparent reluctance to keep the public apprised.

President Barack Obama's campaign strategist, David Axelrod tweeted a criticism saying,
"Antibiotics can take care of pneumonia. What's the cure for an unhealthy penchant for privacy that repeatedly creates unnecessary problems?" he said.
Clinton's campaign communications director, Jennifer Palmieri, responded with two tweets. "We could have done better yesterday, but it is a fact that public knows more about HRC than any nominee in history," Palmieri said in one tweet. In another, she wrote, "In contrast to HRC, Trump has been less transparent than any nominee in modern history."

Here's a rundown of the disclosures — or lack thereof — made by her staff related to her health and well-being in the past week.

Monday, Sept. 5, Labor Day
Clinton had a coughing fit while campaigning in Cleveland, and she made a joke about how it was a reaction to Donald Trump.
"Every time I think of Trump, I get allergic," she said between coughs.
Clinton and her aides attributed the cough to seasonal allergies . She told reporters she "upped my antihistamine " and was doing "better."

Friday, Sept. 9
It wasn't announced at the time, but Clinton was evaluated by her doctor "during [a] follow-up evaluation of her prolonged cough" and was diagnosed with pneumonia, Clinton's doctor said in a statement on late Sunday afternoon.
As a result, she was put on antibiotics and "advised to rest and modify her schedule," according to the doctor's statement. Publicly, no announcements were made by her campaign on Friday about the evaluation, the antibiotic prescription or any changes to her schedule.
Today, Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon told CNN that "senior staff was aware on Friday" that she had been diagnosed with pneumonia.
She held a meeting with a bipartisan group of
national security experts and then held a news conference, where she spoke more softly than she has at her other news conferences.

Sunday, Sept. 11
8:20 a.m. Clinton arrived at ground zero for the 9/11 memorial service and reading of victims' names at about 8:20, minutes after Donald Trump arrived.

9:23 a.m. The pool reporter — a member of a rotating group of journalists assigned to stay with presidential candidates at all times during their public schedules — was kept in an area out of sight of Clinton. As a result, the reporter could not clearly see Clinton leave, but others saw her leave the area around 9:23 a.m.
She was seen getting in her "Scooby" van by a bystander, who shot video of her being helped into the vehicle.
Her whereabouts were unknown for about an hour after that. Her aides did not respond to requests for comment during this time.
11:03 a.m. Clinton campaign spokesman Nick Merrill said in a statement that she attended the 9/11 service "for just an hour and 30 minutes this morning to pay her respects," though that number appears inflated, if her 9:23 reported departure is accurate.
"During the ceremony, she felt overheated, so departed to go to her daughter's apartment and is feeling much better," Merrill added.
No additional information was provided at that point.
11:47 a.m. Hillary Clinton was seen leaving the apartment of her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, in Manhattan's Flatiron neighborhood. When asked what happened, Hillary Clinton told reporters, "I'm feeling great. It's a beautiful day in New York." She hugged a little girl who ran up to her on the street, then Clinton got in her "Scooby" van and was driven away.

1:13 p.m. Clinton's motorcade arrived back at her home in Chappaqua, New York. The campaign did not say whether she made any stops along the way.
5:16 p.m. Clinton's longtime doctor, Lisa Bardack, released a statement saying Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday after an examination for her "prolonged cough," which last week the campaign attributed to allergies.
Bardack — who an aide said examined Clinton on Sunday afternoon at the candidate's home — said Clinton was put on antibiotics and was advised to rest and modify her schedule.
The doctor said that at the morning's incident, Clinton "became overheated and dehydrated" and that "she is now rehydrated and recovering nicely."

Late that evening The Clinton campaign confirmed that she would not be traveling to California as previously scheduled and that she is scheduled to stay at home.
She had been slated to attend a closed fundraiser in San Francisco today, and that event is supposed to proceed as scheduled, with Clinton making an appearance via teleconference.
There are several events that are scheduled in Los Angeles for Clinton; their fate has not yet been announced.

Monday, Sept. 12
Fallon told CNN that Clinton "is not contagious" and the campaign plans to release more medical records.
He said that the campaign is meeting with her doctor today and that the release could be as soon as today or sometime this week.

South Africa’s Zuma pays $542,000 bill over house scandal

South African President Jacob Zuma has paid back $542,000 of public money spent refurbishing his private home, his office said Monday, in a controversy that has dominated his second term in office.

The country’s highest court found earlier this year that Zuma had violated the constitution by defying an order to repay some of the funds used to renovate Nkandla, his traditional homestead.

It ordered him to pay back funds spent on non-security upgrades — including a chicken coop, swimming pool and amphitheatre — valued by the treasury at 7,814,155 million rand ($542,000).

“President Zuma has paid over the amount… to the South African Reserve Bank as ordered by the Constitutional Court of South Africa,” the presidency said in a statement.

North Korea's Latest Nuclear Test: the Facts

North Korea conducted a fifth nuclear test on Friday, an underground blast that Seoul quickly labelled its "most powerful to date."
Seismologists detected a powerful artificial earthquake at 0030 GMT Friday, which they said was centered around Punggye-ri, North Korea's nuclear test site.
South Korea says it believes the quake was caused by the testing of a nuclear device, with a yield of 10 kilotons. That would make it the most powerful of Pyongyang's five nuclear tests to date.
A South Korean soldier watches a TV broadcasting a news report on Seismic activity produced by a suspected North Korean nuclear test, at a railway station in Seoul.

Why have they carried out another test?
The North Korean leadership says a credible nuclear deterrent is critical to the nation's survival, claiming it is under constant threat from an aggressive United States.

Although it has regularly threatened neighboring South Korea, its main priority is developing a effective strike threat against the U.S. mainland.

It has always insisted it will continue testing, ignoring global condemnation and toughened UN sanctions.

Flavour Nabania causing traffic

There was commotion among the followers of Chinedu Okoli, better known by his stage name Flavour Nabania after he posted some very hot photos of himself and a bikini-clad lady on his IG  page.

Flavour posted photos of himself and the lady in a body of water on Sunday. The photos got fans suspecting that the unnamed lady could be another baby mama  to-be for Flavour who already has two baby mamas.

However, some others think the photos are only for the promotion of a new music video.

On Monday, the singer/ song writer cleared up the air by posting a video clip with the girl. Turns out that it was a music promo.

“There’s nothing like waking up to a beautiful sight! @alisha_berry,” he wrote.

The injured soldiers and the civilian have been treated and have continued with their duties, Colonel Usman said.

The incident showed that there are a few remnants of Boko Haram terrorists determined to carry out attacks to create panic and insecurity in some areas in the northeast that have seen relative peace in the last few months.

According to the spokesman, Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah, the anti-narcotics boss, described the action of the suspect as shameful and stated that the drug trafficker would be sanctioned in line with anti-narcotics laws. He said, “It is a shameful and discreditable act for a 55 years old mother who is going on a holy pilgrimage to ingest narcotics.
This is very shocking and a clear indication of her inability to effectively discharge parental responsibilities. “The agency shall invoke the powers of the law against her and others caught indulging in production or trafficking of drugs." Also commenting on the arrest, NDLEA Commander at the Abuja airport, Hamisu Lawan, said that Mrs. Iyabo had since been under observation in the NDLEA custody. He added that arrangements had been concluded for her prosecution in the law court. Mrs. Iyabo was arrested during the outward screening of passengers on an Emirates Airlines flight to Dubai.

If the suspect had been caught in Saudi Arabia, she would have been publicly executed according to the law of the land. Mrs. Iyabo is said to hail from Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State and she’s married with three children and sells cosmetics at Dosumu Market in Lagos. In her confessional statement, she owned up to the crime and also provided investigators with useful information. She said that she desired to expand her business in Dosunmu Market and that pushed her to begin trafficking in drugs. She further confessed that her sponsors, who she declined to mention, offered her the sum of N1 million to courier the drug to Saudi Arabia. She added that she had swallowed the drug in Lagos, but took a flight to Abuja in order to avoid detection in Lagos.
She confessed, "I am a trader in Lagos, married with three children. I wanted to expand my cosmetic business, but I have no money. My sponsor offered to foot my expenses to Saudi on pilgrimage. This was how I got involved in the act. “I was excited until the issue of drugs was introduced. I wanted to decline, but it was late. Besides, I was offered one N1 million, which I accepted. I swallowed the drugs in Lagos and took a flight to Abuja on my way to Medina, but I was caught in the process.”

Nigeria's Economy: VP Osinbajo Optimistic About Recovery

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has attributed the current economic recession in the country to the sharp drop in power generation, occasioned by vandalism by militants and the looting of the treasury among others.

The Vice President also said that the government is making effort towards taking the full advantage in the manufacturing sector, agriculture, solid minerals and technology to revamp the economy

“We are all set and prepared to get out of the recession. I think that it is a time for us to take on the challenges of the time and understand them as opportunities.

“One of the key reasons why we are in a recession, as you know, is the fact that we lost almost 60% of our revenue due to the vandalisation of the pipelines in the Niger Delta and we lost almost 40% of gas due to power.

“Once we are able to resolve that, we will at least be able to earn more revenue and I very strongly believe that by God’s grace we will be able to resolve that. If revenue goes up, that is an added advantage,” he said.

While asking Nigerians to be more patriotic, the Vice President explained that measures such as the launch of the 50,000 jobs for volunteer corps, micro credit loans for market women and conditional cash transfer for a million of the poorest are to be launched soon.

Prof. Osinbajo encouraged Nigerians to believe in the government to deliver the change it promised, adding that the development they crave would not happen overnight but the government remains focused.

He also noted that all Nigerians have a part to play in the change they want to see.

“We are very calm and extremely confident that, God being on our side, this country will not be the same in the next couple of years,” he said.

Pastor dupes 499 women N3.5m

Policemen attached to the Pen Cinema Division of Lagos State Police Command have arraigned a 46-year-old pastor, Archie Morrow, before a Yaba Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, over allegations that he duped 499 women of N3.5 million.
It was gathered that the pastor allegedly deceived the women to pay N7,000 each into his bank account with the promise to give them a loan of 150,000 each.
It was further gathered that after the pastor allegedly got N3.592 million, he bolted with the money and relocated to an unknown area, as all efforts by the women to get their money back proved abortive, while he also refused to pick their calls.
Luck, however, ran out on him when some of the women, acting on a tip-off, located him somewhere around Oke-Aro, a suburb of Ogun State. He was arrested by detectives from Pen Cinema Police Station, Agege.
One of the women said: “Pastor Archie told us that we should pay N7,000 into his bank account and that he will help us secure loan of N150,000 each. We got our friends and neighbours involved and they parted with the amount, but all efforts to get pastor to give us the loan proved abortive.
“He stopped picking our calls and he relocated from his house. We prayed and went looking for him and somebody told us that they saw him in Ogun State. We got the police to go after him and he was eventually arrested.
“However, he is claiming that he had spent our money and that we should forgive him. I trusted him because I felt he was a man of God.”
The crime was said to have contravened Section 312 of the Criminal Code Law of Lagos State.
The accused pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of 200,000 with two sureties with evidence of tax payment for three years.
The case was adjourned to September 28 and he was remanded at Kirikiri Prison, Lagos, pending when he will meet the bail conditions.
