Cristiano: “The game against Sporting is very special for me”

“Although it will be a big challenge, I think that it is possible that we can win the Champions League again”, said the Madrid forward.

Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to the UEFA media in the days building up to the start of this year's Champions League, where Real Madrid come up against Sporting on Wednesday, the club where the Portuguese forward played as a youth: “It's a special game, they are a special team, they're got a good coach and it will be another special moment in my life. It's a privilege for me”.

“Winning the Champions League again is a great challenge and I think at Real Madrid we have the opportunity to do it. We will take each game as it comes and we have to think about the group stage first of all, because in my opinion we have got a difficult group. We'll see how the competition develops. I'm thinking positively, it is possible to win it again”.

“They're very difficult teams. We've played against Borussia Dortmund in this competition before and lost. We know that they are a difficult team, especially at home because they've got fantastic fans. I've never played in Warsaw and I don't know much about their team to be honest, it will be a new experience. I hope that there aren't any surprises and we can win both games”.
